Ohad Matalon
Born in 1972, Ohad Matlon lives and works in Jaffa, Israel. A BFA and MFA graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, with a previous MA degree in Philosophy from the Tel-Aviv University, Matalon now teaches photography at the Bezalel Academy as well as at the Minshar School of Arts in Tel Aviv. Matalon's works are a visual attempt to signify the complex identity of Israel in light of its unique sociological, geographical, and political entities and circumstances. Matalon has exhibited worldwide, in both solo and group shows, among them a solo exhibition at the Haifa Museum of Art and group exhibitions at the Beijing international Biennale, the "Borderline-Mirror Like" at the Hushan Culture Park in Taipei, Taiwan, the "Chocolate Factory" Gallery, London, the FotoGrafia in Rome, the Kunsthaus Hamburg, Andrea Meislin Gallery, New York, and the Helena Rubinstein Pavilion of the Tel-Aviv Museum of Art.
