The work is a handmade halftone oil painting, part of the "Paradise-Inversion" series. This series discusses a specific style of painting: conceptual and media reductionism. Here the extremely traditional, canonic, almost banal motifs are represented as primitive halftone reproductions. The chosen subject matter, highly reminiscent of the old masters, raises questions and provokes debate concerning the concept of originality. As suggested in the theme represented, The Archangel of Heaven, Michael, the Prince of Light, leads the good in the battle against evil; a hopeful inversion of the soured new world processes such as cloning and virtual reality, takes us a full circle into the past, now unrecognizable.
